To Celebrate Retailer’s Grand Opening At Trails Village Center In Summerlin®

                          Albertsons Companies Foundation to award $55,000 in grants                                   to a local school and veterans groups

WHAT:   Summerlin’s first major shopping center, Trails Village Center, which opened in 1998, celebrates its new grocery store anchor, Albertsons, with a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 23.  Trails Village Shopping Center Company, owner of Trails Village Center, recently invested more than $3 million to purchase the store lease through Delaware Federal Bankruptcy Court proceedings to ensure the return of a 56,660-square-foot first class, traditional, full-service retail supermarket at Trails Village Center benefitting the community of Summerlin.

The new Albertsons features a designer floral showroom, a premier produce department, a high service meat department, expanded bakery, deli and cheese department, expanded wine and craft beer area and full-service sushi counter.  Cory Booth is Store Director.

 

At the ribbon-cutting, Albertsons  Companies Foundation will award a total of $55,000 in grants to the Mariachi Ensemble from Del Sol High School ($5,000); US Vets of Las Vegas ($10,000); Nevada Veteran’s Foundation ($25,000);  Nevada Veteran’s Assistance League ($10,000); and Catholic Veterans of Nevada Charity Foundation ($5,000).

Following the ribbon-cutting, shoppers will be invited to celebrate with a wide assortment of food sampling in addition to cake and ice cream.  Custom, reusable Trails Village Center canvas grocery bags will be given to the first 1,000 shoppers.

Trails Village Center spans 20 acres just north of Town Center Drive and Summerlin Parkway and was originally a joint development of The Howard Hughes Corporation and Christensen Development when it opened nearly two decades ago.  Groundbreaking in design, Trails Village Center re-oriented the traditional strip mall by rimming the perimeter with retailers and locating the parking inside to create a more pleasing streetscape and design aesthetic.  With nearly 50 restaurants, banks, boutiques and services, Trails Village Center continues to be one of the community’s most popular neighborhood retail destinations that services residents in Summerlin’s first villages, including The Hills, The Hills South, The Trails, The Crossing and The Pueblo.
