Summerlin® Homes Make Outdoor Living Part Of The Lifestyle

Summerlin, the 22,500 acre master-planned community located along the valley’s western rim is known for its landscaping, community events and overall lifestyle. Home to more than 100,000 residents, Summerlin offers yet another hallmark: outdoor lifestyle built into every home.

“Summerlin requires its home builders to design homes that provide residents with ample outdoor living space, representing at least 15 percent of the total floor plan,” said Danielle Bisterfeldt, director of marketing for Summerlin.  “That means Summerlin homes come standard with a variety of outdoor living structures, including covered patios, covered balconies, sun decks, porches and rooftop decks. Many floor plans include multiple outdoor seating areas to create outdoor socializing and entertainment spaces.  And many of our builders are incredibly creative with outdoor/indoor spaces.”

In The Paseos village, Ryland Homes’ Capistrano and Sarasota neighborhoods offer floor plans with hidden rooftop decks, and one Capistrano floor plan features a courtyard and optional pool in the front of the home.

Belmonte by Woodside Homes has three floor plans that include balconies above large covered patios, also called loggias. Multi-slider glass doors allow homeowners to seamlessly connect great rooms with loggias for an expanded space to relax or entertain.

Segovia by Pulte Homes has optional covered balconies and rear loggias, and also offers unique spaces for entertaining near the main entrance of each home. Large courtyards, loggias and an attached, open-air casita create unique spaces and opportunities for outdoor lounging or entertaining in the front yard.

In The Mesa village, some of the nine floor plans offered in the Monte Bello neighborhood by Richmond American Homes offer sizable front porches as well as covered patios and an optional courtyard.

“We work with our builders to ensure they include outdoor living space that is both comfortable and beautiful to encourage outdoor living,” said Bisterfeldt.

Water features, pools, outdoor kitchens, built-in flat screen TVs and fireplaces are some of the options offered by Summerlin builders.  Lennar’s Everything’s Included package offered at the recently opened Delano neighborhood in The Paseos village includes as standard home amenities that are often considered upgrades, like large multi-slider glass doors that lead to loggias with built-in fireplaces.

New neighborhoods in Summerlin offer townhomes and detached single-family homes priced from the high $200,000s. For more information about Summerlin’s newest neighborhoods, visit or download the new home finding app by searching “Summerlin” in your app store.

The Montecito neighborhood by Toll Brothers includes covered porches and patios with optional outdoor amenities to make outdoor lounge space just as comfortable as indoor living rooms.
