Summerlin Home Sales Show Biggest Percentage Increase Overall In Valley
Summerlin, the Las Vegas valley’s largest master-planned community, has for decades been among the 20 best-selling master planned communities (MPC) in the country, according to RCLCO, a national independent real estate advisory firm in Bethesda, Md. RCLCO recently released figures for 2013 naming Summerlin the 11th best-selling MPC in the country. Summerlin bettered its position by one place from its #12 ranking in 2012. Perhaps the most noteworthy achievement is Summerlin’s home sales growth of 20 percent over the previous year, rounding out 2013 with 566 new homes sold. Summerlin’s increase in new home sales was larger than any other MPC in the valley.
“Clearly, new home buyers continue to see the value in becoming a part of the Summerlin community,” said Kevin T. Orrock, president, Summerlin. “Unlike many newer Southern Nevada master-planned communities that promise future amenities, Summerlin has delivered for years its hallmark quality of life thanks to the valley’s most robust offering of already constructed amenities. We have more parks, trails, golf courses, shopping centers, places of worship and office parks than any other Southern Nevada community. Combined, these amenities help to create the lifestyle that continues to attract homebuyers year after year.”
For ten years Summerlin held the number one spot for new home sales among master-planned communities nationwide. By 1992, just a year after the first family moved into the community, Summerlin was the best-selling master-planned community in the country according to Arthur Andersen Real Estate Services Group- a position Summerlin held until 1995. According to RCLCO statistics, Summerlin missed the number one spot in 1996 by only two home sales, but held the number one position from 1997 to 2002 - a feat unrivaled since RCLCO has been measuring MPC sales nationwide.
After a lull in new home building nationwide, Summerlin is again opening new neighborhoods, with several others in the master-planned community near sell-out. “Summerlin is once again showing tremendous growth and overall development of this master plan,” said Danielle Bisterfeldt, director of marketing, Summerlin. “Summerlin has more floor plans by top home builders than in any other community in the valley. And Summerlin continues to lead the way when it comes to amenities, community events and environmental stewardship.”
Currently, Summerlin offers new homes in more than a dozen neighborhoods. These include townhomes, luxury condominiums and single-family homes of all sizes and styles, from single-level floor plans, semi-custom, as well as exclusive luxury custom home sites. Homes in the community are currently priced from the $200,000s to more than $1 million.
