Summerlin® Offers Smart Home Technologies For New Home Buyers

Thanks to technology, home automation is one of the newest building trends with technology making it possible to monitor homes, manage heating and air and secure doors and windows using cell phones and tablets. Several home builders with new neighborhoods in the master-planned community Summerlin offer these technological advances that give home owners a greater sense of convenience, conservation and security in the palm of their hands.

“We are proud that many of our home builders offer built-in cutting-edge technologies that speak to the modern living conveniences many homeowners are now seeking,” said Danielle Bisterfeldt, director of marketing, Summerlin. “The ability to monitor when your child arrives home from school, lower the shades on a hot day from your office, or turn down the air conditioning from your car, is the mark of a true smart home.  The ability to virtually manage your home creates an added sense of security and is an invaluable convenience for today’s busy homeowners.”

Lennar’s Catalina, Esperanza and Delano neighborhoods, all in Summerlin’s Paseos village, feature the home builder’s “Everything’s Included” package, which provides standard home features considered upgrades by other builders. All three neighborhoods also include standard remote home automation features.  Powered by Nexia™ Home Intelligence, Lennar’s home automation features include door locks, an indoor camera and home energy and lighting management which can all be controlled remotely using a computer, smartphone or iPad.

Both Tevare by KB Home in The Paseos village and Monte Bello by Richmond American Homes in The Mesa village offer multiple home intelligence upgrades using Z-Wave brand technology.  This includes a touch screen keypad to monitor windows and doors, motion sensor, automated push button and keyless door locks and glass break sensors. This system also includes a wireless two-way doorbell video phone with camera connected to front door/door bell and home intercom.

Homes in Tevare also offer energy efficiency technologies including electrical vehicle charging stations in the garage, one example of why KB Home was named the 2015 Green Builder of the year by the Southern Nevada Home Builders industry at this year’s Silver Nugget Awards.

Toll Brothers’ Montecito and Altura neighborhoods in The Paseos and the Vista Dulce townhome neighborhood in The Mesa offer hi-tech automated upgrades using the Control4 home automation web based app, accessible from smart phones, computers and tablets. Homeowners can turn off, on or dim lights remotely, lock and unlock exterior doors, open and close garage doors, and view, set and adjust thermostats remotely. Additional options create the ability to control window covers at peak times during the day.  Other options allow homeowners the ability to remotely control pools, spas and water features.
