FROM REPUBLIC SERVICES:

Reduce
Use two-sided copies at work.
Use reusable grocery bags when you shop.
Buy food in bulk which requires less packaging.
Buy products that use less packaging.

Reuse
Use one-sided copies for scrap paper.
Use rechargeable batteries.
Donate clothing items to charity.
Use gift bags instead of gift wrap.
Use cloth napkins instead of disposable paper napkins.
Use ceramic coffee mugs instead of disposable Styrofoam or paper cups
(even at Starbucks or other coffee vendors).

Recycle
Participate in neighborhood curbside recycling program.
Recycle newspaper, glass, metal cans and plastic containers.
Take your plastic bags back to the grocery store and put them in recycling bin.
Buy recycled products like copy and computer paper.
