FROM REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION:

Join a carpool or vanpool – use High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes
Reducing the number of days you drive to work alone can significantly reduce air pollution in the valley – and mean less stress for you! Need help finding a carpool or vanpool partner? The RTC’s Club Ride program can help you find a carpool partner who lives and works near you. If you travel US 95, you and your carpool partners can utilize the HOV lanes for a faster commute.

Leave the car at home
Instead of driving to dinner on the weekends, take a leisurely bike ride or walk to your favorite neighborhood restaurant. It makes a great family outing and reduces air pollution generated from driving. The RTC has more than 180 miles of bike lanes throughout the valley. Whether you’re looking for an easy ride with children or a challenging around-the-valley ride, the RTC’s bicycle map (rtcsnv.com) shows you a variety of options.

Try transit
Taking transit, even if its just a few times a week reduces air pollution. Not sure of routes? Visit the RTC’s Transit Trip Planner at rtcsnv.com and let us plan the route for you. A monthly transit pass costs just $40 and can help you save money on gas. Most RTC vehicles have at least two bike racks so combining a morning bike ride with getting to work is easy.
