Red Rock National Conservation Area
The neighborhoods of Summerlin are carved into the stunning backdrop of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area for a reason: this 200,000-acre, federally protected playground holds international clout, and boasts more than 2,000 climbing routes. As one of the top five climbing destinations in the U.S., Red Rock gives hikers of all levels a choice of more than a dozen trails – from easy hikes for the whole family to more adventurous outings with double-digit mileage and 1,000 feet of elevation gain. Its scenic 13-mile loop is a hot spot for cyclists and runners. Adventure enthusiasts travel the globe to get a glimpse of these crimson beauties – and it’s all literally in your own back yard.

In addition to serving as the 10,000-person capacity home to Las Vegas Aviators, the Las Vegas Ballpark hosts civic, community, nonprofit and sporting events. The festival-like atmosphere provides a wide range of seating options including 22 suites, party zones and decks, a kids’ zone, bars and a pool beyond the outfield wall. The Las Vegas Ballpark makes Downtown Summerlin not only a popular location to shop, dine and be entertained, but also as an emerging sports hub.

ViewHit the Ice at City National Arena
City National Arena in Summerlin serves as the team’s practice facility and administrative headquarters for the Vegas Golden Knights, and is also accessible to the public for public ice skating, skating academy, figure skating, youth and adult hockey leagues, and more.

A great place for all ages to beat the heat! As one of the world’s most iconic water park brands, Cowabunga Canyon is Nevada’s largest water park, with more than 25 slides and attractions for families and thrill seekers alike. Plenty of shaded areas, private cabanas for rent, and misting systems make sure everyone stays cool and has fun.
ViewClimb an Atom at Luckey Climber
Who doesn’t want to explore the atom by climbing it? Downtown Summerlin’s Luckey Climber resembles an atom, but stands 24 feet tall and has 30 multi-colored platforms, inviting kids to explore various paths along its protons, neutrons and electrons. This unique climbing sculpture is designed by noted kid architect Spencer Luckey, and brings energy, laughter and play to problem -solving and spatial thinking. This is a fun, challenging gathering spot for Summerlin’s smallest residents.

Get Fresh at the Farmers Market
The Las Vegas Farmers Market offers a bounty of the freshest fruits and vegetables from the southwest, as well as authentic handcrafted European style breads and cakes, and local fresh breads and pastries. Shop amid the rainbow hues of blood oranges and many varieties of citrus, asparagus, beets, leafy greens, nuts, pasta, salad mix, avocados, squash, pomelos, bok choy, strawberries, fresh-cut flowers and bedding plants, and more.

Mood Sculpture by Tony Tasset
In honor of Mental Health Awareness month, presented by Summerlin Hospital, Downtown Summerlin unveiled a new art piece, Tony Tasset’s Mood Sculpture, located in The Pavilion. The sculpture features seven colorful range of moods that represent daily lives and promotes acceptance and belonging.

You’ll find performances of multiple disciplines happening year-round in the Donald W. Reynolds Cultural Center, home of Nevada Ballet Theatre, and the Summerlin Library and Performing Arts Center. And be sure to visit the Warsaw Ghetto Remembrance Garden at Temple Beth Sholom, which is dedicated to the occupants of the infamous World Ward II enclave and features the nation’s largest collection of stones that once paved the streets of Poland’s Warsaw district.
