Shopping local has always been important to Crystal Chase, owner of local hot-stop LoveBug Baby. Here she dishes on her favorites at Downtown Summerlin along with giving a few insights on her must-visit boutique.
Q: Who is mastermind behind LoveBug Baby?
Me! I’m Crystal Chase, a single mom with two littles (ages 1 and 4). I was raised in Las Vegas and retail has been a passion of mine my whole life. It has been my dream to open a children’s store since I was pregnant with my first, and I have been working hard to make our shop a special place in our community for all families ever since. Currently, our team is the glue that holds us together and continues to push our store forward. We would not have made it through a pandemic without the dedication and love of my talented staff and team.
Q: Why did you pick Downtown Summerlin as a location?
Downtown Summerlin is AMAZING! They work so hard to create fun events for the community and put so much thought and work into getting the right retail and restaurant partners. It’s a perfect mix. I’m lucky to be among so many awesome retailers – both big and small. Downtown Summerlin really cares about supporting small local businesses.
Q: What’s unique about your store?
Lovebug is filled with unique gifts and high-end clothing brands you won’t find anywhere else in the valley. We strive to bring our customers brands they typically only see online, to a place they can see and touch in person. We also are strong believers in the customer experience in our shop. We genuinely care about every single person and their families that walks through our doors. We want you to feel like you can come to us with all your questions and leave feeling confident and excited about our products.
Q: Must-have baby essential?
This is tough to choose just one because baby products are the best when they fit into your lifestyle and everyone’s lives are a little different. I think our most popular “essentials” brand is going to be Copper Pearl. They make everything from bibs to swaddles, to nursing covers and sleep sacks. They really have all baby basics covered, and we carry the full line in our shop.
Q: Top advice to give a parent about to enter parenthood?
Do what works for you and your family. You are going to get so much advice from other people, and some of it may not work for you and your lifestyle. Parenting in general is hard. I’ve found more comfort in offering myself some grace by just saying to myself, “this is what works for us right now. It may not work for others, and that’s ok.”
Q: What’s the hottest baby item that’s trending?
Bamboo jammies. There is something about this buttery soft fabric our moms just can’t get enough. Best part is we are now offering sizes up to 7-8 years old. Perfect for those big and little sibling PJ pics!
Q: Why do you love the DTS shopper mom?
We love our moms because they love us hard back! We have an amazing community of women behind us, cheering us on, giving us their feedback, and we are so grateful for them.
Q: Best kept secret about DTS?
It has the BEST photo ops! From seasonal installations to murals inside stores like ours, there are a ton of places to get that perfect shot for the gram!
Q: What’s your favorite spot at Downtown Summerlin to eat and shop?
Gosh, I really love it here. It’s hard to choose just one of each! I’m obsessed with Acai Bowls from Nekter Juice Bar, our staff frequents Shake Shack … A LOT! And my favorite shops to are the ones that are owned by locals like Silver Post and With Love & Co.
Q: Anything else you wanted to share?
We’ve moved! We are so excited to announce our new store location across from lululemon. We have also expanded our brand offerings and are bringing in new products daily! We still offer complimentary gift wrap with every purchase and $5 off when you rate us on Google or Yelp <3.
